What to include

If you are writing about a result that looks wrong, these details let us actually investigate rather than guess:

• The four numbers you saw — download, upload, ping and jitter.
• What you expected, and where that expectation comes from (your plan, another test).
• Whether you were on Wi-Fi or a cable.
• Your browser and operating system.
• Roughly when you ran the test, and from which country.

Before writing, it is worth reading how to test your speed accurately — most surprising results are explained there.

Privacy requests

To ask about data we hold, use the same address and say "privacy request" in the subject line. Note that we store no accounts and no results, so in practice there is very little to retrieve. See the privacy policy for what that means.

Corrections

If something in our guides is wrong or out of date, tell us. Point to the page and what it should say, and we will fix it and note the change.

Advertising

Advertising on this site is sold through Google AdSense rather than directly. We cannot take direct placements, and we do not accept paid links or sponsored posts in our guides.
